Max has always had something deep within him that he didn’t understand. That “something” feels like it comes alive when he ducks into a small gallery at Chicago’s Art Institute to hide from a strange man who has been following him. In the gallery, there is an old Celtic tapestry hanging on the wall that begins to quiver and glow. Max discovers that he, along with a few other children, have an ancient Celtic magic called Potential. As Potential children are being kidnapped, he and his fellow students at Rowan, the school for Potentials, must act to save the world from the powerful Evil. This is the first installment in The Tapestry series.
Hound Of Rowan is a very exiting book. It is about a boy from Chicago that gets in a strugle between good and evil.
ReplyDeleteOver all I thought that the The Hound of Rowan was a good book but at some parts skipped around to fast like from the first couple of days to halloween in about 3 sentences. Some parts of this book reminded me of The Lightning Thief because it had mythical creatures like Mum the hag. It also reminds me of Harry Potter because of the magic like kindling a fire with your mind.
ReplyDeleteThis is about someone who finds a room with a tapestry in it with the Cattle Raid Of Cooley depicted on it. It sounds fun, yet not at the same time to be a Potential. Fun by being able to kindle fire, move something without touching it, and do something called "Amplifying" to make you temporarily stronger. Not fun because those training courses sound killer, literally! Yet they seem fun at the same time.
ReplyDeleteIt seems fun to play, I think, Euroclysthian soccer. I mean a hill forming in the middle of a game? Awesome! And the training. It sounds crazy. CRAZY AWESOME! I wish it was real. Including Mystics. I think, in terms of awesomeness it is-

ReplyDeletethis was probably my second favorite series in the world. if you like harry potter, this is just like it. the hound of rowan is very descriptive and is a big adventure
ReplyDeletemy favorite part in the tapestry was when they had to pick out their pets or i guess the pets were supposed to pick them out. i thought that part was really funny esp. the namrs of the pets!
